01:20 pm - Dying for Your Beliefs
I skipped yesterday because I was stranded out of town by the ice storm.
2 days ago I wrote about the preposterous nature of the personal testimony offered by the Bible in support of the historicity of Jesus’s resurrection.
But we are invited to overlook that absurdity due to a supposedly overwhelming saving grace: the complete sincerity of the testifiers, as measured by their willingness to die for their beliefs.
Does sincerity occur only when linked arm in arm with truth? Was it in fact sincerity at all? These are matters to which I next turned my attention.
( Being Willing to Die for Your Beliefs )
Tomoro: Hitler!
Y’know, when you compare almost anything to the Nazis, as I did above, you’re practically bound to get some ignoramus crawling out of the woodwork to contend that Hitler was an atheist. Happened here, too, so tomoro I’ll again divert from my main mission to take on that particular canard.
